Few people think of a frog as a role model for a soft toy. Except perhaps when it comes to Kermit from the Muppets. Yet it has the potential to be cute. Big eyes and little legs look adorable. What appears less fluffy is the skin and its habitat in the water.

There are numerous different frogs and some people use names such as toad or toad. However, there is no clear distinction between them. Frogs are the smaller, narrower species with smooth skin. They can be found all over the world and are native to almost all regions.

The frog needs water to reproduce, as this is where it lays its eggs, the spawn. This is because the offspring initially have gills. The tadpoles can therefore only breathe and survive in water. Over time, limbs develop. The gills first disappear under skin flaps and finally disappear completely.

Frogs thus develop from an animal that survives exclusively in water into a land animal. It develops a simple lung. Part of its respiration then takes place via the skin, which is why it must remain moist.

The story of the Frog King shows that the frog is very important. There are one or two plush figures with a crown. Perhaps it helps to kiss it so that it turns into a prince. Another advantage of a soft toy frog is that it cannot croak. In the wild, these small amphibians develop quite a volume. They achieve this with their sound bubble.

A frog is also much easier to cuddle as a soft toy. It doesn’t need water and is larger and more robust than its animal counterpart.
